Can I say places that have campgrounds and parks attached but I've never stayed there, but just visited?

The Trees of Mystery.   I went there as a child and would love to go back.  The trees are wonderful.

Avenue of the Giants  This drive up through Northern California is beautiful.  Lots of old growth redwoods.  And really hot in the summertime.

McKerricher State Park  A wonderful wide view of the pacific.  Really beautiful.

I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

Thanks LadyKnight1.  I've reposted my original list of great camping places. FYI these places are all in the USA

Shenandoah National Park (VA)
Greenbriar State Park (MD)
Catoctin Mountain Park (MD) - If the POTUS is in residence, the campgrounds and western part of the park are closed
Leesylvania State Park (VA)
Prince William Forest Park (VA)
Ricketts Glen State Park (PA) - Waterfalls...soooo many waterfalls
The Potomac Appalachian Trail Club has several dozen cabins along the AT in VA, MD, and even PA.  They range from Modern to Semi-Primitive to Primitive
Dolly Sods (WV)
Monogahela NF (WV, PA)
Caledonia SP (PA)
Michaux State Forest (PA)
George Washington National Forest (VA/WV)

Maryland, on the Potomac near Washington DC - Purse State Park

Difficult to find - We used to take our Cub Scouts there because at low tide you could scoop your fingers into the riverside sand and find prehistoric shark's teeth by the dozen.

Assateague National Park.  VA side - haven't been to the Maryland side. Yet.  :)

We just got our RV this past August, so I expect I will be adding to this list.

The Maryland side is beautiful too. :)   We keep talking that eventually we'll get a camper or RV when we get to the point where we just don't feel like setting up tents anymore.   And we always see horses, just sometimes we see them closer than others. :)

I love Devil's Lake State Park in Wisconsin. The hiking trails are perfect for a relaxing walk, the views over the lake in the center are just stunning...

And if you want something else to do, it's literally 15 minutes outside Wisconsin Dells and their water parks!

Mount Washington State Park. (The Ammonoosuc trail is my favorite; I could spend all day at Gem Pool.)

The Black Hills in South Dakota along with Badlands National Park plus Mount Rushmore.

Zion National Park in Utah. (It's not far from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which makes for a nice national parks trip.)

North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Muir Woods outside San Francisco.

Rocky Mountain National Park.

Hands down, Crater Lake in Oregon. You've never seen a bluer blue in a lake. All my photos look like post cards.
It's only open in July and August due to the heavy enter snowfall. We had a snowball fight in August on a 70 degree day.

The campground fills fast. We arrived on a Thursday to avoid the rush.

My favorite Major-Big-Deal trips as a kid were to the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and the Smoky Mountains.  I very much want to take the kids to at least one of those someday.  We went through the Black Hills and Badlands in SD on the way home from Wyoming.  Just breathtaking.

And living where we do, we have access to Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan and the other 8032 parks there.  I'm dying to drag the kids up to the UP and go to the Lake In The Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains and the various hiking trails I used to haunt when I went to college in Marquette.  They're old enough now that such a trip would be more fun and less work.  My family did the Circle Tour of the UP one summer (I think I was 10?) and it was gorgeous.  I just love it up there.

And locally, I'd like to get to Starved Rock one of these days.

Yellowstone is my hands-down favorite.

Other ones that I really like are:
Arches/Canyonlands
Grand Canyon (mostly the north rim)
Yosemite
Joshua Tree
Great Smoky Mountains
