Thatz Not Okay-Gawker

Have you guys read this column at Gawker? It is an advice column with a direct and irreverant style. I go back and forth between nodding vigorously in agreement with the answers, and feeling bad for the letter writers who get ripped by the columnist. Overall though, I enjoy it.

What are your thoughts on this column or some of the letters and responses?

If you are unfamiliar with Gawker, links to other columns in the series are on the right.

I hadn't read it, but I now know the origin of the style of the article in our work newsletter about not talking on your cell phone in the bathroom.  Which was posted on the door of said bathroom.

Hasn't helped.

Caity Weaver is my favorite Internet writer, so even when she's wrong (see e.g. Her most recent response about the guy watching porn in Starbucks) I love the column.

Thanks Citadelle for intro'ing me to a new excuse to get nothing done!  ;D

The answer to the first letter of the following article is hysterical. Razor-sharp sarcasm... 8)

From the second letter
Quote
Does your friend owe you a favor, and will you only accept payment in the form of "baby"?

Not that I had planned on getting anything done today, but I think I have found what I'll be doing for the rest of the afternoon.  ;D

My son's nurses think I've finally lost my mind.  It's all your fault!

I really enjoy the writing style. From a letter about a future MIL being invited to her DIL's bachelorette party, "It's a shame you won't be at your daughter-in-law's bachelorette party, because you sound like a cool, sensible lady with a healthy set of boundaries. You should be at every party. I hope you're reading this right now, from a party, but I know that you're not because that would be rude and you have impeccable manners."
"From a procrastination standpoint, today has been wildly successful."

"Does your brother insist on building up anti-polio antibodies via vaccination even though you have a perfectly good (slightly haunted) antique wheelchair stored in the attic?"

Maybe my son's nurses are right.  I think I've finally lost it.  This quote caused belly cramps and real tears from the laughing.
