Favorite store-bought cookies
« on: March 26, 2013, 07:15:22 PM »

I don’t buy cookies very often (prefer to make my own).  But today I saw one of my favorites – Lorna Doones!.  So I got a box.  (small, square shortbread cookies)  Good with a cup of tea and also for dunking in coffee)

Once in awhile I like mini Oreos.  Like to put a few into vanilla ice cream.

(But my own homemade chocolate chip with walnuts are still the best, especially with cold glass of milk.   ;D)

About the only store bought cookies I would buy are Fudgeos because I can't make those myself.  Although I am partial to Peek Freans bourban and shortbread.

But I don't ever buy cookies because I'd eat the entire package in a couple of days.  I do buy Girl Guide cookies, too, when the kids come to the door.
I have CDO.  It is like OCD but with the letters in alphabetical order, as they should be.

Mmmm...Archway. They are the cookie that made me realize that one of the good things about being a grownup was i could eat cookies for dinner if i wanted to.

It's alright, man. I'm only bleeding, man. Stay hungry, stay free, and do the best you can.

Loacker Quadratinis.  These are little cubic wafer cookies that come in a variety of flavors.  They're delicious and just right when you wake up in the middle of the night and need a little something to eat with a glass of milk.

I knew that was coming.  My father loved them and we always had them in the cupboard when I was a kid, and I always hated them.  But, I respect your choice.  :)

Pepperidge Farm Mianos.  My BFF and I discovered them in high school and thought we were very sophisticated.   :o

I also like Newton Thins.  They remind me of my grandfather's favorite cookie, which I haven't seen in years.  They were thin, square, chewy cookies with a layer of raisin filling.  Not too sweet, not too crunchy, not too cake-y.

The only store-bought cookie I like are sugar wafers. These things: http://www.cookiemadness.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/sugar-wafers-hill-country.jpg

They're fake and awful and I love them.

Everything else I make myself.

I used to also love circus cookies (http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_liy2h01N9n1qe7vz2o1_500.jpg) but I haven't seen them in years.  :'(

Publix store brand devil's food cookies.  Not sure if there's an official name, but they're in a green-and-white box and usually on the top shelf with no fanfare.  They're fantastic, though, especially frozen!

Raspberry Milanos
Double chocolate Milanos
Soft batch chocolate chip cookies
Strawberry sugar wafer cookies
those Keebler mini cheesecake cookies (sorry, I don't remember what they're called!  :-[  )
double stuffed Oreos (the original or generic, it doesn't matter either way)
generic Caramel DeLites (addictive as all getout)

1. I love those sugar wafers with peanut butter spread on them.

2. I've seen a version of those circus cookies at Target. I'm pretty sure they were a Target brand thing.

Two words: Pecan Sandies. I just love them.
