Internet time waster: The Secret Door
« on: March 28, 2013, 08:33:25 PM »
A "friend" of mine shared this today: http://www.safestyle-windows.co.uk/secret-door/

I, for one, just spent the last two hours browsing the Tate Britain gallery and hiking in the Himalayas. Try it at your own risk.

Very cool. Lucky it's a holiday today :)
"Can't do anything with children, can you?" the woman said.

Poirot thought you could, but forebore to say so.

I'm confused.  How do you know where you are?  I was taken first to an abandoned school - ruined desks and lockers, rust, cobwebs.  Then I was on a trestle bridge.  Then what looked like a combination bar/grocery store.  Next was an art museum, but i couldn't figure out how to navigate and then suddenly I was in a private home.

It looks like it would be fascinating if I could figure out how to tell where I am!

It's a beautiful site! Perfect for a day of vile weather.  I just wish they didn't include so many Japanese locations with earthquake or flood damage.  The museums, and nature locations are wonderful.

Thanks for sharing.  I can see my iPad will have to be charged more frequently

The school was from the Tohoku Quake zone.

And if you still have too much time, try the world's largest panorama.

http://boingboing.net/2013/02/22/worlds-largest-panorama-lon.html
48000 images stitched into a detailed picture of London at ranges up to about 5 km.

You can see a ball on a sports field several kilometers away!

Emma, I saw one of these with Japanese writing (which I can't read) in the upper left corner and assumed that I was looking at the wreckage from the tsunami.
