Funny things in traffic
« on: January 18, 2007, 08:09:14 PM »
I was responding to a different post on going under the speed limit and I thought of something I saw this summer.

I was getting aggrevated with a traffic jam (people were stopping to read a sign) and I heard a clip on the radio "It's a traffic jam.  You can't argue with it."  I relaxed and smiled and settled in.  After all, the traffic jam hadn't listened to my arguements.

But it was summer and my windows were open.  After I relaxed I heard the guy next to me yell,"MOVE MOVE MOVE!!!"  It made me laugh as it was nice to know I'm not the only one who yells at traffic.

I ride a lot with my fiance and his twin brother.  We'll be riding with the windows up, typically, and we'll be cursing and commenting on other drivers.  Never making any GESTURES, but I've started teaching my fiance and his brother how to insult the other drivers in Yiddish, because that's how my grandfather did it!

I yell at traffic lights. In fact I just did so tonight, there is a light to a subdivision that isn't on a motion sensor and the time it gives for people to come out of the subdivision (which isnt that many, its a SUBDIVISION!)  is REALLY REALLY REALLY long and the time it gives to the REALLY REALLY REALLY busy road that the subdivision pulls out on to is REALLY REALLY REALLY short.

Sort of backwards and when it's late at night and you're the only car sitting there waiting for the light to change for over two minutes, it becomes very tempting to run it. But I was good and did not.
