Virus
« on: September 04, 2014, 09:18:59 AM »
Twice within the space of a couple of minutes I've been surfing a page on ehell and an ad has taken me off to another page (I did not click, it just did it automatically) which then automatically downloads a virus.

The link (Don't click it!!!) is http://down.dpycart.com/gb/down.php?sid=142&dv1=ad136-gb&kw1=ad136-gb&uuid=43b5d3e5-ab47-4cbb-57b1-01e01c2ad6d2

Please can you remove whatever ad is triggering this, thankfully AVG has protected me but some others might not be so lucky!

This has happened to me, too. Not recently, though.

This just happened to me. Odd things have happened to me on this website for the past week. For example, the back button intermittently doesn't work. However, twice today the following full page site popped up with no warning. Like the OP, I did not click on anything, it just pops up. I visit many websites throughout the day everyday and it only happens on Ehell.

This is the link: http://you24hours.com/q/v6/index.php?sid=148&dv1=ad142-us&kw1=ad142-us&uuid=646ee777-67a9-40f5-4e95-453598d69755

Do Not click on it. Lets just say it's got "girly" pics.

Will a mod see this post? I'm not sure how to contact a mod directly.

UPDATE 1:06pm central standard time: This one just popped up though it's not offensive like the above link:

I think I'll stay away from Ehell for a few days :(.

The first link I have blocked but the second one is apparently a 3rd party ad network and while I do have the ability to block ad networks individually, this one does not show up as being one of Google's certified ad networks therefore there is no way for me to block it via Google.  Since I only run Google Adsense ads, I'm thinking that one may not have come from any particular ad placed on this site.

I did not need to block this since it was quickly slammed shut by Google or someone and is no longer a valid site.

I wonder, is it possible these ad issues are a result of this? http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/19/6537511/google-ad-network-exposed-millions-of-computers-to-malware

Could be.  Google will never tell its publishers if their site has But the good news is this...."...millions of computers have likely been exposed to Zemot, although only those with outdated antivirus protection were actually infected."     Keep your antivirus software updated and you have little to worry about.
