I just scored 10,800 points on this one. Can you beat me? http://bit.ly/160vkyp

I keep getting plopped down in the middle of absolutely nowhere.  I'm lucky if I get the continent right!

My favorite hint: Look for the sun, then check your direction. Helps me oodles!

I was proud to get the native language (if not the continent) correct on each of those    http://bit.ly/19R3Djc (Don't click that link if you want to try the challenge too and haven't played it yet!)

Oh, and in case anyone's curious . . . the "correct" answer is based on where it first plunks you down, not where you're standing when you take the guess.  (I lucked out and found a store with their phone number on their awning, so I know I was literally on the right block . . . I had to wander halfway across town to find it, though, so I was ~3.5 km off.)

11708.

I'm usually spot on with at least the continents at first glance gut feel, but Australia is always a problem one though.

edited to add -- Whoops, sorry, I misunderstood the challenge, that score wasn't on the original challenge, it was a fresh load of the geoguessr page.

I've found 95% of the middle of absolutely nowhere is in Australia  .

And a pox on Google for telling me that street/bridge/town does not exist. I'm looking right at the sign!

That last one was HARD! It's a bridge over a river.  Lots of pine trees.  And it won't let you off the bridge!  The only clues were in the language of the signs posted on the bridge.   I admit to making a blind guess.

I'm finding it impossibly hard--yet I keep trying.  Odd.
