And in the previews for next week, there's a girl named Juliana auditioning who was our Ariel in Footloose 2 years ago.  I don't think she makes the cut, though.

OT, but this is my absolute, hands-down favorite movie of all time!! I love Kevin Bacon and the guy who played the preacher (cant remember his actual name now!) I have the soundtrack on my iPod, and whenever I have a long car trip or something really boring to do, I blast it because it is so fun!

2nd favorite - Dirty Dancing (NOT the remake), AWESOME soundtrack too!

Yeah, the Footloose movie is a thing of cheesy perfection (the Dad is John Lithgow)  The musical?  Not so much.  It has all the good songs, but there's a little too much about the parents and the trials of being a good housewife and such.  Kind of kills the happy buzz.

We had a really really good Ren.  Danced like a maniac.  And Ariel...was very pretty.  And busty.  And she really could wail on the songs.  Even though she doesn't have the Sandy "look" I'm pulling for her.  She'll knock the sexed up Sandy costume out of the ballpark.  Not sure about the innocent side, though!

Hmmm..there must be a Dirty Dancing musical, right?  If not, I'm going to sit down and write one, right this minute.

I have, and I'm mixed. I love it because I am a performer too, so I identify and relate to what is going on. However, there are some things going on in that show that are purely done just for reality shows hijinks, and I HATE that part of it! Why can't it all be done normally? But I'll still watch because I love Grease and want to see who wins. As far as favorites, I think Austin definitely has the biggest chance of winning Danny. None of the other guys can hold a candle to him at this point. As for Sandy, no one is really standing out right now IMHO.

Sigh. On my list of "10 Movies that Represent Time Wasted that I'll Never Get Back", Grease is in the top 3.

Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back, (repeat several billion times), girl learns to act like a slut, boy and girl live happily ever after.
Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality.
