Bacon Wrapped Shrimp
25-30 large shrimp
1/2 Package of bacon
1 tbsp. of Ground Ginger
1/2 Cup of Teriyaki Sauce - (I use the thick syrupy kind)
3 tbsp. of Dark Brown Sugar
25-30 toothpicks
Soak toothpicks in water for approx. 30 minutes. (This is important or they will catch fire in the oven.)
Mix the teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and ground ginger in a small bowl.
Microwave bacon for about 20 seconds just so that it is pliable, not cooked. When bacon is done, cut strips in half.
Wrap a bacon strip around each of the shrimp and secure in place with a toothpick.
Dip in the bowl of teriyaki mix until covered on both sides.
Place shrimp on a cookie sheet sprayed with Pam.
Turn oven to broiler setting and cook shrimp for 3 minutes on each side until bacon turns golden brown and shrimp is pink.
Place shrimp on a serving platter - and get out of the way fast, or you will be run down!
