How many cupcakes?
« on: November 02, 2013, 03:22:37 PM »
My daughter's 5th birthday party is tomorrow.  Her grandparents are coming, as well as 3-4 (no RSVP from one) friends.  I expect to have at least 6 adults, possibly 3 more, depending on whether the parents stay or drop off (the next-door neighbor will probably just drop off).  There will be 7-8 kids.  So that's 13-17 people.  Would 24 cupcakes be enough, or do I need to make a double batch?  It's going to be cupcakes and ice cream, plus candy in a pinata for the kids to take home.  My husband always complains that I make way too much for parties and such, which is why I'd like to run it by people before considering making a double batch.

Really?

Hi

24 sounds like enough to me, considering there will be ice cream and candy for the kids.

YOu could try making 24 and see how it goes, if its not enough then you know if last year.

I think 24 cupcakes would be fine.   It's at least one for everyone.

24 sounds right to me.  1 each for the kids plus a few extra in case some of the adults want a second one.
After cleaning out my Dad's house, I have this advice:  If you haven't used it in a year, throw it out!!!!.

If you get your upper limit of guests, I'd do 'family hold back' on seconds, just in case.

Fortunately that's fairly easy with little kids, as they have to ask for a cupcake anyway.  :)

24 cupcakes worked out fine!  We have 7 left over, which is just fine.  And making all those little giraffes on 48 cupcakes would have been a nightmare, so I'm glad it was just 24!  Thanks, everybody!

I might post some pictures of our giraffe party when I can.  :)
