Boyfriend is the one who insists we get up before the train comes to a stop.

The kid who forgot the hat didn't ask me to move, the boyfriend told me to get out of the way.  and five or six other people would have had to move, too, to let the guy re-join his group.

Ooh, I'd probably get snippy with that boyfriend too!

I am not impressed.

I have ridden the rails my whole life and never seen a stop so quick that someone could not move from the middle of the car to the doors before the closed, barring some disability, and even then, the conductors will hold the train if they notice such a situation. Next time I would stay seated and let your boyfriend disembark alone, and meet him on the platform.

Yeah, I agree. Start insisting that you don't want to stand up; say, "I'm not comfortable standing, I feel unsafe when the train lurches."
