Maple French Salad Dressing
« on: November 27, 2013, 09:25:04 PM »
Requested when I mentioned it in another thread:

Maple French Dressing
From the Ontario Maple Syrup Producer's Cookbook, circa 1975ish

In a blender, put:
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup vinegar
3/4 cup oil
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dried mustard
1/2 tsp ginger

Cover and blend on high speed for 20 seconds.  Makes 2 cups.
I have CDO.  It is like OCD but with the letters in alphabetical order, as they should be.

This is a very nice sweet/tangy dressing. I brought it to the family Tgiving dinner. When I made it I left out the ginger because I didn't have it on hand, but it was still very delicious and I will make it again.

Thanks, Outdoor Girl, for sharing! ;D

It's a favourite.  We do a 'Sugarbush Dinner' every spring after maple syrup season to thank all the helpers.

Ham with a maple syrup glaze, maple baked beans, green salad with the maple French dressing, homemade bread (the only thing without maple syrup), maple syrup pie and maple syrup muffins.  The pie is like a butterscotch pie - custard with meringue.
