I'm torn right now. It's a toss up between Beethoven's 7th Symphony and Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis. I'd probably go with Beethoven, though, just to have some variety between movements.

Oh, you see, I hadn't thought of classical. Now I want to change my choice for Copland's Appalachian Spring. I don't think I could go the whole rest of my life without ever hearing that again.

I can't not think of classical. I'm clasically trained and while I do like popular music in various genres (don't want to call it pop music in general) my first love is always classical. Copland is great too, but I've been on a big Beethoven kick for about the past decade, and I can't step away from Symphony 7. It's just too perfect.

I honestly can't choose.  It would be one of the songs that pull on my emotions.  Here is a big one, for me.

What about Three Wooden Crosses by Randy Travis. *Sniffs* I think I have something in my eye...

Oh, so hard.  It so depends on my mood, but often they share a feeling.

Constant Craving by K.D. Lang is always at the top of my list:  http://youtu.be/oXqPjx94YMg

Drive by the Cars:  http://youtu.be/xuZA6qiJVfU

And a totally different focus, but very meditative, Come Worship the Lord by John Michael Talbot:  http://youtu.be/0Km2MbSXlVE

The link is to Holland's Got Talent, where the appearance of a beautiful little girl who sings opera shocks the judges.  Her name is  Amira Willighagen.

This is online cruelty.  Only one?!?

OK, I'll go with the Overture to Tommy, the Rock Opera.  You can exercise to it, drive to it, air guitar it...it's truly multipurpose music!

For me it would be the Overture to Jesus Christ Superstar- for all of the same reasons- this past weekend I used it as kitchen cleaning music, falling asleep music, and reading music.
That's my purse! I don't know you!

The Skye Boat Song. Simply cause it's my default "lullaby" to myself when I can't get to sleep, plus my dad used to sing it to me at night before bed when I was a little girl.

Iron Maiden's "Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner." It's 13 minutes long, has several tempo changes, is based on a classic poem, and it kicks "bacon-fed knave."

"Colour My World" by Chicago. It was our wedding song and we still dance to it whenever we hear it. I can not imagine choosing any other song!

Or On the Other Hand.
I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

For classical, I'd probably take Mendelssohn's violin concerto.

For pop music, whoever it was who mentioned kd lang's "Constant Craving" gets a high five! That song has aged well. I would probably have to pick something very melancholy, like Icehouse's "Angel Street," or a-ha's "Early Morning," or Leonard Cohen's "Waiting for the Miracle."

But really, just one? Why not ask me to choose which limb I'd prefer!

I'd have to go with "Berlin" by Steven Sharp Nelson of The Piano Guys - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcnzqKpFZ0I

It's currently my favorite song, but I'd miss all the other songs in the world so much!  I love music, and the thought of only listening to one song for the next 50-60 years is just...NO!
