The good neighbour
« on: February 14, 2014, 03:42:07 PM »
I live alone with my dog and birds, so when I moved, I let one of my neighbours have my phone number (and eventually my house key as we became friends).

My car was at the mechanic's and I took a ride with my boss from and to work.  I got a call on my cell, it was neighbour who was worried my car wasn't in the parking lot overnight and she wanted to know if she had to go and take care of the pets and if I was alright.  Nice to know there will be help if I ever need it.

That is so nice.  I lived alone for many years and I always made sure a trusted neighbour had a spare key "just in case."  It's important to have someone looking out for you, especially if you're alone and female.  (Also if you're male, I'm just sayin'.)
