About 5 min ago there was a mighty crash upstairs.
Gretchen, the cat downstairs, is letting me know that it wasn't her and that she has no idea what happened. But she's very cross with me for interrupting her nap and now that she's up I really need to escort her upstairs to investigate what is going on.
Zoe, the cat upstairs, is now singing the song of her people.  The lyrics: It wasn't me / I didn't do it / I have no idea what happened / Who me?
Grace, the cat on my bed, jumped up and ran under the bed for the next 4 hours

I think my cats are finally getting used to my new work/sleep schedule, because this is the first morning when I did not get awakened around the time I used to go to work by a cat shouting at me to make sure that I am not dead :)

A couple weeks ago, there was a very loud bang at my house, followed by 'tink, tink, tink'.  The inside pane on one of my patio doors shattered in place.  The tink noise was as it continued to spider-web.

Cue two very startled cats, along with the human, who was ready to blame the one who has been working her way towards becoming a black and white fur stole and a pot of cat soup.  Before I realized what had happened, I thought for sure that she'd knocked something down.

Scared the bejeebers out of me.  And apparently out of at least one of the cats, judging by the size of the deposit in the litter box when I went to clean it later that evening.   ;D

There was a lot of 'What the heck just happened?' talking going on from them to me.

Sassy makes these really comical trills and meeps when she sits at the patio door, watching the birds on the bird feeder.  Makes for really great kitty TV.
I have CDO.  It is like OCD but with the letters in alphabetical order, as they should be.

I have another one...My dearly departed cat meowed because there is water on the floor and on his dry food and not in his water bowl. He would like both new water and dry food. Water which gets there  several times daily after he swats his water bowl until it splashes into his dry food , which he then eats a bit of.  Of course he also meowed if I put less food in his dry bowl , so 1/2 of it would end up soggy.   god forbid the time I tried to just sprinkled a little water on his dry food , you would have thought he was getting a bath, putting water on kibble was obviously a union job and way above my pay grade.

Oh, yours are unionized too?
Ours shout when we don't run all cuisine changes and adjustments to food dish location through the Forecat. Also when there is (or isn't) water in the basement.

This morning Domo Kun ran down and met me at the bottom of the stairs to tattle on DH at the top of his lungs. It seems that DH had the audacity to set up his HAM radio upstairs in the den without asking the cats. And it makes lots of strange noises that are very bad for cats! I got a whole soliloquy on how very very bad it is! The little cat just sat with her back to DH and her ears pinned back flicking her tail which according to her is the ultimate punishment.  ;D

Chloe has been yelling at me lately because I finally put away all of my yarn stash in plastic bins rather than the plastic bags she can chew through to drag yarn balls all over the house. She sits in my closet calling to the yarn to come out to play. I believe I've redeemed myself a little bit though, as I got a new freezer this weekend and she has claimed the top of it as her new perch to survey her queendom from.

When miss Mocha is in speed bump mode, she runs behind you and flops behind your feet, which is dangerous for her health and human maneuverability. She will meow at you if you get too close.

The perpetually pregnant/nursing kitty, who will be getting spayed April 14th come heck or high water, gave me quite a scolding for moving the food bowl.  Even when I showed her where it had been moved to, that simply was not good enough.  I had to move it back to where she was sitting.

Morty -
'I want attention - naaaoooow!'
'I want more attention!!'
'That puppy is licking me again - not my sort of attention!'
'Leave me alone!'
'I just wanna yell!'
<muffled howl> 'Look what I brought you - dead thing!  Oops, my bad, it's still alive...'
'Stop looking at me!'
'Look at me!!!'
'You kids get off my lawn!'

Kitten:  I've laid down in this bag and now I'm not happy about it.

Cat outside: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA It's been raining all day and the other neighborhood people didn't feed me.  (This is what I leave home to every day, and come home to every night.  I would suspect the cat of lying to me, but kitty deigned to let me pet her?him?bitsarefluffy in return for the food tonight.)

Cats inside:  The food bowl is empty!  (Then after the food bowl was filled, they followed me around the house while I did other things, as they apparently have realized that if I need to give someone speshulgushifud, the regular food bowl gets filled first and then the special stuff is distributed discreetly.)

Kitten:  It is time to change out the fake plants in the vase.  These are so last season.  Here!  I've removed the old ones for you.

Forgot two cats from my single days.

Roommate's big black fluffy cat.  She would be in Roommate's room -often in the closet - while we humans (and my cat) were in the living room.  Suddenly, she would start to cry at the top of her lungs.  She was lost and everyone (even my "obnoxious" younger cat) had left her.  Oh the cries of "I'm all alone...There's no-one here beside meeeeeee."  Until Roommate would yell, "Hey stupid, out here."  Yup, she would get lost in a closet.

My cat at the time, a grey striped tabby cat, had been young when I lived with a different person who had a flame-tip Siamese.  Yup, my little grey cat spoke Siamese.  ALOT.  Especially on the 6-hour trips to my parents' home.  Especially when I went over 45 miles and hour.  While "helping" to shift from her travel box.  Good times

"You had fish. You had fish. You had fish. Yoooooooooooooou had fiiiiiiiiiiish. [sung] You had FISH! [SHRIEKED] YOU had FISH! [muttered under the breath] you had fish. [complained to DH] She had fish. [complained to DS] They had fish."

There is fish in her bowl. Has been for half an hour.

Lord, if only I knew. Truly. My one cat, Azizi, does the top-of-his-lungs Oh Woe Is Me meow for no apparent reason. From room to room, tragically mourning something. Doesn't want pets, food, water. His brother, Phinneas, appears to have no idea what's wrong with him either. And he is LOUD! Drives me insane. He also meows because we have locked him out of our room, because we are cooking chicken, because we are eating chicken. Phin mostly only meows at 4:00 in the morning - that special hour when the cat food in the bowls apparently goes utterly and completely stale, necessitating a fresh batch.

After our dog Tasha was put to sleep (liver cancer) her cat buddy Kirk would wander from room to room calling.  "HaROWR?  HaROWR?"  He'd never made that kind of call before, and after 3 or 4 weeks never did it again.  He was looking for her.  :'(
