Haha! My cat's food also apparently goes stale. Very quickly. Usually around 4:00 in the morning. The bowl might still be full, but apparently all the contents thereof are no longer edible. Luckily, a few new pieces on top restores the freshness! Alas, I still have to get up for that...

I have a 1/2 siamese and these are all acceptable reasons to meow

That's exactly why Izzy (mostly a nondescript breed but has something with a BIG meow) was just making a racket.  I have been chewed out by a 10 pound feline.

All cats know food within 1 inch of the edge of the bowl is POISON , you have no idea how stressful it is to always be on the lookout for the ring of death (cats actually coined this term , true story)

My girl will eat every morsel (of dry food) in her bowl, although she prefers I give fresh refills.  A few times I've slept late and she meows.  I finally get up and see that her bowl is completely empty...poor baby.  :(  :-[

With her wet food she licks the bowl clean, makes it shine!  :D

I used to blame the dog when the cat food bowl was licked clean.  Then the dog spent a day on the opposite side of a door from the food bowl, and I learned better.

I once had a cat that was unable to meow. When he was a kitten, he was rescued from some kids that had hung him up by his neck. Apparently his voice box was damaged. All he could do was make a soft "hah!" sound.

He was an indoor cat. One day he went missing. We looked everywhere--under furniture, inside cabinets, even inside the refrigerator & washing machine. We called and loudly rattled food bowls. Nothing, for hours. We began to worry that he had somehow slipped out an open door. Then my roommate sat in the reclining chair and titled back. Out popped the cat. He'd been trapped under the chair and since he couldn't meow, no one hard his cries for help. After that, we always looked for the cat before putting the chair upright.

i just changed the batteries in our Smoke/CO detector.  It made several loud noises as it went through it's testing sequence.

The cats are NOT happy that I interrupted their prime sleeping time and are letting me know in 3 part harmony just how upset they are.

We left yesterday, and left the windows open. As we were loading the vehicle, I looked up and Mocha was at the window. When we would make eye contact with her, she would squeak her displeasure that we were leaving her behind. Aww.

Cat #1 is sitting on the bed shouting at me because he has not yet twigged that despite it being morning and my still being in bed, I have already been to the kitchen and filled up his biscuit bowl. Cat #2, who, oddly, is usually the dimmer of the two by a long way, figured it out early and so is looking on in mild bemusement.

Annoyingly, saying "Cat #1, if you'd care to go and look in the kitchen, I think you'll find you have some breakfast" is not working; I may have to get up and physically plonk him there.

Domino yelled at Yoda Mouse.  Apparently, Yoda Mouse is not allowed on the loft ladder.  Domino had knocked it off twice, and here it was back again!  He was two inches away, howling at it.  Meanwhile, the human pretending to be asleep had to stiffle her giggles.    >:D

This was a morning for sticking her nose on my eyelids, but quietly.  And when my eyes opened, a little yowl/chirp. How dare I sleep in!
