Etiquette causes NSW Premier to hand in the Job
« on: April 16, 2014, 12:16:08 AM »
The New South Wales Premier resigned from his position today after an investigation over a bottle of wine.

He denied ever receiving it, but a hand written thank you note was found.

This is the first case I have heard of where a thank you note caused a scandal!

And I just saw a news report that said that ICAC( Independent Commission Against Corruption)
would not investigate him further.
So maybe he could have toughed it out.

I must say, even though I voted for the OTHER party, he seems to have been the best Premier we have had
for a long time.
His wife will be doubly upset... I bet she was looking forward to meeting The Duke and Duchess.

He could not have toughed it out.  He had no option but to resign.  Despite the ICAC not bothering to waste any more money the party would have forced his resignation.
