Help with baking time!
« on: May 08, 2014, 05:45:06 PM »
Oh wise ones, I'm doing an egg bake for teacher appreciation week at my daughter's school. I'm making 2 pans so I'm wondering if I need to add to the baking time. One 9 x 13 pan takes 45 to 50 minutes. Help!

I wouldn't think you would, but then I'm not sure what an egg bake is?

Usually if I am doubling a recipe that all goes in one pot or pan I can expect to double the time (or at least increase it greatly) but if it goes into two pans or pots then it takes only as much time as a single batch.

No, that should be fine although I would switch the pans front back and side to side halfway through.

Thanks guys. I will start baking earlier than I need to and then combine them in my 7 quart crock pot and keep on warm. That way if I need a little extra time for baking I'm covered. I was going to use my fancy chafing dish but the crock pot just makes more sense.
I have to run it over to the school at 7:30 in the morning so the easier the better!  ;D
