R. E. M's "To the one I love."

Granted, I can't figure out what the lyrics mean after the first two lines, but "This one goes out to the one I love/This one goes out to the one I left behind"  does seem to indicate that the two are one and the same person.

I can't remember - has anyone nominated "(You've lost) That loving feeling"?

The next two lines are easy enough:  "A simple prop to occupy my time.  This one goes out to the one I love."  Okay, he's out on the road, noodling on a guitar, thinking about the girlfriend waiting at home.  Repeat endlessly.  But the lines about "fire (she's coming down on her own now)" are pretty obscure.  The girlfriend has to come down from drug highs without him to support her?  She's coming to visit him on her own dime to ignite the fires of passion?  I like the song, but have the distinct impression that the writer was just fooling around, not intending to write a hit song.

(You've lost) That Loving Feeling.  Just what every bride and groom needs to hear.  Excellent choice for the Mix Tape from Ehell.   :)

I honor of my 3rd anniversary today, I nominate I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.

I thought it was funny...my mom wasn't impressed.

Is the Bunny Hop the same as the Hokey Pokey?

Nope, totally different.  In the Bunny Hop you actually do bunny hops.  In the hokey pokey you stick parts of your body into the middle.  Different song too.
How did I become the expert?  I have a 4-year-old.

I'm fairly certain that the "first dance" music at one wedding I was at was "Last Waltz."

I thought it was odd at the time. Then I looked at the lyrics.

Now I know it's odd.

"One More Moment" at the very least.   :D  It would be fun to sneak in some of the more accruate parodies, just to watch people's expressions as they realize, that, no, those aren't the original lyrics.

It's A Nice Day for a White Wedding
Everything I Do by Bryan Adams
Don't Leave Me This Way by the Communards
Money Money Money by Abba
What Does The Fox Say? by Ylvis
Cha Cha Slide by DJ Caspar
Don't Turn Around
Stop - Spice Girls
5-6-7-8 by Steps

This is beginning to have a serious sense of deja vu of our wedding. We have a huge sense of humour and really, when it comes to music at a wedding reception, as long as it's not offensive or too painful on the ears, anything goes for us.  So we just let the DJ play what he wanted, and allowed people to request as well. Everyone had a fantastic time and nobody to my knowledge complained.  :D

I don't even know the name of this song or the artist, but (to me at least) it would be cringe inducing at a wedding.

I know of the song is a few lines:

Hush girl, don't move your lips,
Do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips.

Really? Stop talking and writhe for me? Really?
Something about that song just makes me see red. So...not on any wedding tape for me!
