What gall!  When it is open seating you get what's there when you arrive.  You don't get to dictate where others, who arrived before you, sit.  It reminds me of the old dragons in my grandmother's church who had "their pews".  Deity help anyone who sat in "their pew".

You were fine...I get really annoyed with people who come in late to a game or parade or event that has first-come seating and expect everyone else to move to suit their convenience.   >:(
