Only by the standards of the group that lost the culture war.

Generally speaking, any time two different classes get caught in a culture war, if it gets fought in the marketplace, the lower socio-economic class invariably wins. If a culture war gets fought in the legal system, in the streets, or in the mainstream media, the victory invariably goes to the "higher" class even if a revolution is successful. The so-called upper class's cultural mores get absorbed.

The old money families in Europe and the Americas lost the culture war because they simply refused to engage with their competition on territory where they had the advantage.
