Honestly?  I like the first outfit you showed us better.  The "vintage" blazer might be nice with a pair of jeans or something...but I personally wouldn't go with that for what you're dressing for.  The skirt is good though.

I vote for the skirt and sweater.  Great skirt!

I have that skirt (and very nice it is too) - I've worn it to work before as well

My vote goes to the suede skirt with a nice sweater. It sounds dressy enough for the office you'll be interviewing in - I think a formal suit would actually be a bit much in that environment.

Good luck with your interview!  :) Some of the best things that have happened in my life have been because of spur-of-the-moment/oh-what-the-heck opportunities.

Thanks everyone.   I ended up going with the blazer, a skirt I forgot I had, and a black wool sweater.   It looked really sharp.

And, best yet, I have a second interview on tuesday - they set it up during the first interview, no less.

So I went to Marshalls and found two suits, a blazer, a sweater, and a skirt.  All for waht I thought I'd have to spend on one suit.  And they, are all really nice brands (one suit is Jones New York, the other is Nine West).

I would recommend wearing a power color like black.  I've read somewhere in one of my many resume/interviewing books that you should also avoid blue because it suggests being somber.  Try to look the part.  Avoid heavy makeup and don't go wild and crazy with your hair....perhaps put it up in a twist or something simple.  Good luck  :)
