Reading new posts without reading the entire thread again
« on: December 06, 2006, 01:34:02 PM »
Near the top of the screen on the left hand side, there is a salutation "Hello username".

Underneath is the option: "Show unread posts since last visit."

If you click on that link it will take you to a list of threads with new replies.

Near the middle of each line there is a box that says "New".  If you click on the box, it will take you to the unread posts in each thread.

It seems weird to me that the posts aren't numbered. How does a person know how 'far' they are in a discussion, if there's no way to know what number each post is in a discussion? Is there no way to increase the number of posts per page? Because I'm on dial-up, I try to download an entire discussion and then log off to read it so I don't waste money (we pay per second here). But if I don't know how many posts there are, sometimes I get to the bottom, then notice there are more posts, then I have to log back on again...
