Input Appreciated....
WildChild@Heart:
I work for an optomotrist and one of our goals for the coming year is to find ways to improve customer service. We're always looking for ways to insure that our patients feel that their visit to us was a pleasant and positive experience. I sure would appreciate your input. Maybe the things that maybe your DR's office does that you really like or some things that you wish your Doc's office would do. ( We haven't had any complaints, just striving to be special)
Thanks !

Perhaps offer a free glasses/lens cleaning while they see the doctor?
*l*I dont know..i dont wear glasses(as yet in my life anyhow)Hubby does though.
Or for every 10 visits, you get one visit free?
People will do anything that offers something for 'free'(or what seems like free)
A good promotional tool..and the word would spread around really fast.
More happy customers, the more money for business..win win

My dentist started putting out a newsletter and theres always a contest (usually a word puzzle or something) and the winner gets a prize. I got a $15 spa certificate (although trouble ensued when I tried to cash it in, as I discussed in a previous post, but I digress :P)
This same dentist also does something cool for children - every month she buys a really nice, giant stuffed animal and kids have to enter a contest to come up with the best name and the one that the staff likes the best wins the stuffed animal. I won a giant dalmation when I was about 7. I named it Polka Spot. I've been with the same dentist since I was about 6 and I'm now 23. While its not just cuz of her contests obviously, its really clear she cares about her patients and has tremendous customer service.

Please explain what you are doing during the exam. Believe it or not, many doctors don't do this.
And don't act like it's none of my business when I ask, "What are those drops for?" or "What does that do?" about something you are sticking in my eye.

I have a wonderful optometrist.
His office manager is another story though. She has her son and daughter both working there too. She also has some, ummmm ....interesting..... family dynamics. In the 3 years or so that she has been there I have never been in that office when I haven't been treated to overhearing conversations, either in person or on her cell phone, that related to someone's encounters with police/wardens/parole officers, drunken behavior, child endangerment etc.
Now, I do understand that life is weird sometimes and people have problems, but please!!!!. She's a sweet woman, and handles the business part well, but is apparently clueles that such discussions should not be conducted in front of the patients. If personal discussions are unavoidable while at work then please, keep them brief and out of earshot of the patients who are uncomfortable with being privy to your personal "stuff".
I also appreciate a clean waiting room and chairs that are not rumpsprung. A chiropractor I know has the worst chairs in the waiting room. I tease about trying to ensure his patients have to keep coming back when they throw their backs out trying to get out of those awful chairs.
