Your Guilty Pleasures--Fess Up!

Mine:

Infomercials for exercise gadgets and videos. I can't get enough of them. Don't ask me why.

America's Funniest Home Videos--only the episodes with Tom Bergeron.

Any of those World's Wildest Police Videos/Most Shocking Behavior Caught on Tape type shows

Whose Line is it Anyway?

That's all I can think of for now. How about you?

Oh I love the old English version of Who's Line..but I can't stand the Drew Carey version.

If I ever get a night at home to myself (never happens anymore) I like to rent either super-sappy chick flicks or horror movies and camp out with snacks and drinks on the couch.  We don't have cable tv, but when we did I would always watch the sappy lifetime-type movies...if there was no chance of anyone catching me doing it :)

Pedicures.  Love 'em but it is so hard for me to justify the cost of them, even to myself.  And the little home pedicure kits just don't do it for me.  Someone else has to be doing the work :)

We just moved and don't have cable yet but definitely Lifetime movies are one of my guilty pleasures.  I also looved Flavor of Love even though I KNOW it's trash.

My favorite guilty pleasure I don't actually feel guilty about?
My family has a house in the Catskills - no tv, no internet, not even really any radio (@3-4 stations)  I love going up there because there is absolutely NOTHING else for me to do but fix myself a little snack (pretzels and oj or pepsi OR maybe brie/crackers/grapes) put on a mellow cd, and sit out on the (screened in) porch reading my book and watching the river roll by.  It's my favorite solitary activity - odd but I knew BF was the one for me when he was at the house and perfectly content to join me reading and I was happy to have him there.

I love America's Funniest Home Videos!

I also love Family Feud, it's so wonderfully mindless.

And Unwrapped on the Food Network.

And Pop Tarts.

(Not the Hello Kitty ones) :P

My son and I walk to a nearby canal every day to see if the gate that controls the water is opened or closed.  We like to see it open.  Also, how much water is flowing over the dam.  The more the better.

I can't stop watching the 1990's show "Diagnosis Murder" (wingadingdingy van Dyke); where I live it's on in reruns.  I admit I can't stand to watch the trashy/badly done episodes, but some of the episodes are just so great that I could watch them again and again and not get tired of them.

Lifetime movies, cream cheese stuffed jalapenos, "Valley of the Dolls" (book, not movie), Totino's Pizza Rolls, tomato sandwiches with extra mayo, horror flicks, cigarettes and late night phone calls on the porch and (oh God save us) Wild Vines Blackberry Merlot.
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

Really sappy books and movies/tv (they have to have a happy ending!) especially Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
Popsicles, slushies, etc. But not storebought. I make my own.
Long walks in the middle of the night when it's totally dark and quiet.
Looking at gorgeous dresses or unusual outfits while I am out shopping, athough I can't usually afford them (I have got to learn how to sew this stuff ::))
You are only young once. After that you have to think up some other excuse.

Soap Operas.

Mine are Young & Restless and Days of Our Lives. I also watch Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives.

The occasional trashy novel. You know, Harlequin Romances.

Teen books like Sweet Valley High.

Trying on clothes with no intention of buying them.

I love those books! I'm 30 now and I'm afraid I'd look like an idiot reading them  :P

Umm...I'm a *really* big fan of the Baby-sitters Club books.  Lol, not something I usually spread around so I guess that qualifies it as a guilty pleasure :-D

Does it count as a guilty pleasure if I'm utterly shameless about it?

If so, then: reading and writing erotic fanfic, the ocassional Lifetime Movie (but I can't take too many!), creating deathboxes in my Sims game to 'kill' off personalities who are bugging me in RL, taunting my cats for their lack of opposable thumbs, Project Runway, long naps.

Incredibly rich lattes and mochas, dark chocalate, the occasional celebrity gossip magazine, and really awful reality TV (Intervention, Real World, and My Super Sweet Sixteen are my rare but pleasurable faves).  The reality shows are great for your self-esteem; it is strangley reassuring to know that there are such self-absorbed, pathetic people out there.
