I know that a size 14 (today in the Twenty-first Century) is a bit larger than it was the last time I wore a size 14 - but there is a difference between a pattern company size anything and a ready-to-wear garment supposedly bearing a size tag with the same number.  The ready-to-wear garment with a similar bust, waist, and hip measurement will be from one to three "sizes" smaller - depending on cost.  The manufacturers found that putting a tag in that is one size smaller means that many women will pay MORE for the same size garment.  Putting in a tag two or three sizes smaller will let the price go up a bit more...........

Which situation is being poked fun at in the Cathy cartoons right now.............

As a woman about to turn 50 (D Day) - I am older than I used to be - but too "young" to pull the Adorable Old Lady routine.  At least most of the time.  I admit that menopause and the hormone changes have made me a bit testy about people assuming that I am a sweet woman who will back down from all confrontation.............but that is another issue entirely.

Based on the colors in my closet - favorite colors are black, navy, wine red, sage green, and white - but my car and jewelry tend to be silver.  I figure I am too creative to be limited to a single color - so anything in jewel tones, black, and white (I am a "winter" by my coloring) will probably work as one of my favorite colors!
