I guess I am being petty but...

Maggie:
My son and I both work at the same job.  Payroll is always ready at 7 am on Thursday.  My son didn't get home until after 7 this morning (he's 21 that is pretty much not my business).  It's now after 11:30 because I was letting him sleep.  I went to wake him up and ask if he wanted to go pick up the checks and he said no I already have mine.  I tried to wake him up 4 times (which he doesn't remember) to ask about picking them up.  Am I wrong to be upset?  Couldn't he have just mentioned when he got home that he already had his?  To me this would be common courtesy.  Maybe I am wrong, if so please tell me.

FoxPaws:
You are not wrong. If it is customary for the two of you to go together, it was inconsiderate of him to change plans without letting you know.

I would not make a huge issue of this, but next Thursday, if he's not awake and ready to leave at 7:00am (or whenever you're ready to go), I'd go without him.

He's 21 years old 24 hours a day.

Thank you I know I tend to baby him at times.

I'd be annoyed that he didn't pick up mine while he was there, if he could have that is.
I have to agree with the poster above. He's perfectly capable of getting his own check. If he was up and around when I was ready to go mine, I'd offer him a ride. If not, I'd hit it on my own.
