Canadian "Any-Soldier"
« on: September 23, 2007, 01:16:44 PM »

I was wondering if there is a Canadian version of  Or something similar?  It seems from the Department of National Defense website that they do not accept care packages that are directed toward any soldiers.... just letters.  So is there an independent organization doing something similar?

Every Christmas I send cards to soldiers at each major country that Canadians are stationed at and I do "Operation Christmas Child"..... but.... after the past couple years I've began to question the ethics around "Operation Christmas Child" so I think I'm just going to curb my efforts and send a care package to our boys overseas instead (seeing how I have family members set to go soon  :-[ )

So how can I go about this?  I know that the soldiers are SO thankful for the Christmas cards (I got a letter back from EACH gracious is that????) but I really want to send over a box of sweets to them this time.
