I'd never heard of Fargo prior to this thread but I'm quickly gaining the impression that it's not the most popular holiday destination in the country?

Well, it's not that it's a bad place, but in January it can get very cold there (and in my hometown too). If you like winter sports, it's a good destination. There's museums and shopping and theaters. It's also however, a long way to go for a party in the winter.
Please allow me to step out of lurk-dom and introduce my self. Hi, I am Osohappy1, I am married, with 2 grown children and 1 teen at home. I live in Fargo, ND. I would just like to offer you a warm welcome when you visit our city. Yes, we do have a couple of comic book stores. One that comes to mind is Paradox which is located downtown.
Unfortunately we are in the midst of a cold snap here. I think the low this a.m. was 15 below. One can always hope it will warm up soon!  :)
I agree with you that is a long way to travel for a work party! Especially in the winter time. You never know what the weather is going to be like from day to day, and we do live in an area where a winter survival kit for your car is a must!
Anyway, Welcome to Fargo!!

Some motivational crew told them it would build team spirit and encourage bonding between employees.

Seems to be having the opposite effect, especially amongst the families of the employees. :P

Fargo is beautiful, in the summer!  But not so lovely in January.  I LOVE cold weather but Fargo is even too cold for me in the winter.

I hope the OP lets us know how it went, and I do hope she had some fun.
