Not really a sign, but . . .

 ??? ??? ???

Oh. It was a ceramic squirrel. Yes I looked the story up...

It was still the best headline of the day.  :D
You must remember this: a ghoti is still a fish...

I was watching the TV Guide channel on our cable station, and happened to catch the news blurbs in the corner of the screen, this was one of the headlines, cracked me up!

Best store name ever - on a little shop in Inverness, Scotland:

"Telly on the blink"

Excellent. I've seen Beddy Buyzs (Shop selling beds) Curl up and Dye (Hairdressers) a pub called The Office (hello darling, I'll be home soon I'm just at the office)and  Wrong 'un autos (Car dealership) I believe there was an American firm called Rent a Wreck, a car hire firm in Hawaii.

The weather here has been most unusual for NYC.  It seems that, every few days, we get another small hit of snow.  It's getting very annoying.

Yesterday, I was out running a few errands and saw a chalkboard outside a restaurant.

'Come in and have brunch before it snows again'.

I am printing that gas station sign and having my students fix it as an assignment - real life proof that what I am teaching counts.

(And yes this has been proved false/photoshopped by Snopes but I love this series!)

Funny thing is, I remember in the movie Chocolat, there's one character who is told, by a Catholic priest, that his dog won't go heaven because dogs don't have eternal souls but then chides him for giving the dog sweets during Lent.

Course that took place during Vatican I so it could be they've shifted their policy on such matters.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars.  You have a right to be here. Be cheerful, strive to be happy. -Desiderata

That series is photoshopped (note the same cars in the background of each Catholic image) but it's hilarious anyway!

I think this one is both combination of sign and display. Figured all the librarians and bookstore people would appreciate it.

I had a label on some pudding rice which amused me.

It read:-

PUDDING RICE
(Ideal for rice pudding)

I saw one today on a Community bulletin board.

Someone was offering what seemed to be a rather nice exercise bike for free.  Part of the poster said, 'It glares at me from the corner.  I want to be able to enjoy my chocolate without its censorious gaze'.
