Top Family and Childrens movies
« on: January 13, 2007, 05:31:37 PM »
I got the thinking that we (my family and I) really enjoy popping some popcorn, and watching a really good family movie.

Here are my recent finds and favs:

*Nanny McPhee: If you haven't seen this movie, rent it. Watch it with your kids. It is soooo cute and sweet.

*Cars: really good, especially if your family is into NASCAR.

*The Wild: Was okay, but I think they copied of Madagascar.

*Over the Hedge: CRUD MONKEYS!!!! I love this movie! Esp. Bruce Willis as RJ.

*The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie: Yes, I am a dork. I LOVE this movie. I have to buy it!

*Polar Express: Saw part of it on TV. What I caught was pretty good.

Classic Favs:

*The Sound of Music

*Mary Poppins

*Old Yeller

*Homeward Bound (the Disney version)

*Star Wars 4, 5, and 6 (the original trilogy)

I have more but that's all I can think of right now.

My son and I watch movies together. We like "Cars" (though he's way more into it than me), "Over the Hedge", "Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Wererabbit", "Chicken Run" (Fowler is the man), "Curious George" (I love the Jack Johnson songs, I'm going to go get that cd) and "Monsters Inc". We also watch "Smokey and the Bandit", all the "Star Wars" movies and he and hubby like the original "Gone in Sixty Seconds".
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

Thing 1 & Thing 2's faves:

The Polar Express - especially the songs.  They sing them constantly and have adapted 'Hot Chocolate' to whatever they are drinking at the moment.  "Eggnog...hey we got it..." (Thing 1 adores Wawa eggnog.  Dunno why but he is underweight so we get it for him when we can)

Cars (whenever they play Cars now I'm told I have to be Sally.  I'm not complaining :) )

Curious George (MUST get that soundtrack!)

Mary Poppins

The Wiggles (not technically a movie but Thing 2 loves 'em!)

The Land Before Time movies

I always push to be Filmore, he's my favorite.
I forgot "The Little Mermaid". It's DS's "girlfriend's" favorite. He likes it when Triton destroys all her "human treasures" as he calls them.

The Emperor's New Groove (when I used to babysit, I'd say to the kids, "Don't you want to watch The Emperor's New Groove?")

Ice Age

Ice Age: The Meltdown

Shrek 2 (but not Shrek)

The Princess Bride (ditto Suze!  :))

Cheaper by the dozen (the original one with Clifton Webb).
Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin movies, the old slapstick ones.
Ma and Pa Kettle movies  (I love these)
The Long, Long Trailer (Lucy and Desi starred in this feature film)

I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.
