I would trade my wordprocessor for a night with either ... Kevin Bacon or James Spader.  People make a lot of fun of them and their acting, but--I've been in love with Kevin since "Tremors" and James since "White Palace."

And who could blame you? Kevin Bacon is just *fun*. And James Spader originated Daniel, so I have no choice but to love and adore him!

I like Star Magazine--it's the best of the tacky tabloids
Vanity Fair for a higher grade of gossipy reading coupled with glossy ads

I like make-over shows and the style channel.

I also enjoy some talk shows (NOT Jerry Springer).

Disney cartoon movies, Shreck, and other 'kids' movies.

Reality TV

80's music

"Dirty Dancing was the movie every girl in my seventh-grade class swooned over, because of Patrick Swayze, but I just thought the dancing was cool "

I liked it because they really captured the feel of the era.  I remember it well.

By the way, did you ever see the episode of Maury, where a guy named L had twins he didn't know about?  He refused to say anything bad about their mother.  The most he could come up with was "if I'm not the father, I don't want to hear from her again".  He was the father and he was delighted.

Dirty Dancing is the ultimate chick flick.  I just bought a copy to send to a female soldier.

Thank you, T'Mar for the validation.  A friend gave me the video of "Stargate" years ago...I said "White Palace" but it was actually "Stargate" that led me to "White Palace."  *sigh* The man was adorable then, he's  adorable in a "Pillsbury Dough Boy" kind of way now and...oh, boy...(wipes drool from mouth and prepares to go out and meet the day.....)   :D

Oh please don't hide in shame....when I worked in the drugstore we would get the new tabloids every week and sit in the pharmacy and read them, passing them around and sharing favorite stories. It was all very civilized...except the subject matter that is.
Just tell people what I do, it's a sociological experiment....
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

Don't be ashamed here! I always read them in the grocery store line. Enquirer, Weekly World News - trashier the better! I buy them at the convenience store when no one else is with me to see. And hide them in my car so the family won't know my shameful secret!

I use to do that with the British trash rags.
Especially, as they were right at the till and right length to read for the occasion.

Now all the supermarkets have taken the tabloids away from the till and put store insurance/credit cards/home equity hand-outs in stead!  Like I want to read that!   ???

Now I have to hang around the cigarette and lotto counter to get my fix  :P

I like "Maury," as in the TV talk show. I don't know what it is. I just love that show, especially the ones where they test the guys for paternity and it turns out the mother is wrong and she has to start all over again. I don't know why I find that so entertaining.

I actually was going to list this one, too!  I wouldn't have thought of it, since I haven't been able to watch daytime TV in such a long time, but since today was a holiday I was able to catch Maury.  And it was a paternity show and I love those!  I also watched part of the CBS soaps, which has been my guilty pleasure since middle school.

I like Desperate Housewives and 7th Heaven (the latter I do hide from others.)  Well, I'm not liking this season so much.  Oh, and Blind Date (my DH and I always snickered at "Hi, I'm Roger Lodge!")

I like VH-1 "I Love the 80's, 90's".

Desperate Housewives. It is total eye-candy. I just love it.

Grey's Anatomy. I got sucked in. I can't remember how I started watching it, but it's the one thing that DH and I will watch together.

CourtTV. I don't watch all the trials. I watch Beach Patrol and Forensic Files, Power Privlige and Justice, The Investigators.

Geraldo. He moved his show from Fox News to NBC. Basicly the same thing but it's not as bad as it was in the 80's.

Days of Our Lives and Young and the Restless. My DH particularly hates when I watch this stuff. Says its a waste of time. What does he know?

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I LOVE this cartoon! My kids got me hooked on it. Now we all watch it together.

Spongebob. Same as above.

Titanic. I just bawl like a baby at the end where the guy is playing the violin all alone and the other players come back. That and Jack and Rose. I always sort of wish he had lived.

Moulin Rouge. Ok. So not everyone likes this movie. How could I not? It has singing, dancing and a really great love story.

Beauty and the Geek is my ultimate fun.

Maury Povich when he does the "You are...NOT the father!" episodes, or ones with overweight babies.

Beavis and Butthead...the ultimate anti-intellectual show.

Degrassi Junior High. Actually quite intelligent, but I watch it mostly to get the 80s fashions!
