Idiot mom is at it again!

Remember the mom who thinks she can just walk into traffic like I can make the cars stop on a dime?

I am at the corner of Hollywood and Vine.  Usually she crosses Hollywood Blvd.  This morning, a friend pulled up on Vine St and offered her and her kids a ride.  She said "come on" to her kids and they dart across  Vine St, in the moving traffic.  Fortunately the motorist who was in the intersection stopped.

By the way, my traffic light cycles from red to green, yellow and back to red in 15 seconds.

Well if something happens to those kids, I will have no sympathy for the mother at all(but I will feel very bad for the kids).

When children die or get hurt because their parents are being stupid, I have a hard time feeling sorry for those parents. It's their fault their children are injured/killed. I feel bad for the children though...their lives cut short because the very people who were supposed to protect them let them down.

Sorry if that sounds cold. I really do hope those kids don't get hit. Is there any way you could talk sense into this woman?

I really think Idiot Mom thinks she is Paris Hilton and that I am some sort of servant in charge of making the world dance to her tune.

The other crossing guard thinks the same thing.

We have an understaffed police dept and a huge crime problem.

Errant moms are not a high priority.

Isn't looknig both ways before you cross one of the first thing you teach your kids? I can remember standing with my kids in a STOLLER saying "look left, look right, look left again. Anything coming? no! now we can cross." Even with all that my kids have still tried to dart into traffic a time or 2 without looking. I can't imagine the lack of respect this woman's kdis have for those huge hunks of steel bearing down on them

I have no idea what to tell you to do, short of tackling her on the curb until the light changes....have you tried telling her that you can't stop the traffic that quickly and that she needs to wait until it's safe to cross lest one of the kids get s squished?

The most beautiful part of this situation is that should one of her kids get hurt, you will lie awake at night wondering if there was anything you could have done to prevent it, and she will blame you.
