I do not answer the phone during LOST, period.  Not for anyone.  I have an answering machine, though, so if someone had an emergency and I heard them yelling "Pick up! PICK UP!" from the other room, I would go answer it, but everyone knows not to call me then.  I had the same deal during Star Trek:TNG when it was on too.  And I usually don't answer during Desperate Housewives, but people don't call me much on Sunday night.*

The hardest thing has been not answering during school time. I have to cut off people after 8:00 or 8:30 so I can study.  Most people understand, but I have one friend who continually calls me after 9.  I usually don't answer if I am busy or don't feel like it, and then I call her back the next night.

I WILL answer the door if it's my neighbor, but if it's someone I don't know, I will peek and then ignore it.

*I missed DH last Sunday because of the stupid ice storm...someone tell me please, who is Gabby's secret admirer!!!!!!!!!

Really?  Okay, CC was definitely rude, but......are people these days really so enslaved to their T.V. schedules that they value that over interactions with an actual, real person?  Maybe CC saw herself as a close enough relative that she felt she didn't have to be invited over (although she probably should have called in advance), and she came over because she wanted to be with actual, real people......only to find everyone wrapped up in a T.V. show instead.

Yes, people are more important than TV ... but why couldn't CC just wait or be silent for 30 minutes?  She *knew* these people always watched this program.  Do the neighbors always have to set aside what they're doing to entertain an uninvited visitor?

No, but I was just thinking, if CC so desperately wanted to see these people, she might have been more lonely than she let on, and maybe not just at that moment either, but in general.
If she *is* lonely, perhaps it's because she's thoughtless and selfish enough to drop in on people and expect them to entertain her, no matter what they were doing at the time. I'm just saying.

And Bree SHOULD have called the police.  But she's lost her brain!

Yes, I knew that I could watch it online, but I can't do it at work and right now that's the only computer I have access too.  My power is STILL not on.  It's been nearly 10 days!

tell me about it - I know it's a soap opera, but if my husband had just been raped, you can bet your sweet yoohoo! Moderators!  Ban me now! the first thing I would do is call the police.  Bree calls for a wheelbarrel...though I cant blame Bree for decking the other woman - etiquette violation or not!   :o

My DirecTV was out for one of the episodes of Desperate Housewives, a few weeks ago.  And for some reason, my computer DSL speed isn't fast enough to play the show online.  So the office is the only place  I COULD watch it!

I remember being at a Chamber mixer and telling my boss I was going over to the office afterward, 'cause I needed to watch Desperate Housewives, 'cause I couldn't watch it on my home computer, for the reasons above.  He laughed and told me he knew I was warped, and to be careful over there, in the dark.

So after helping tear down from the mixer, I scooted over to the office and watched my show on the computer.  He still laughs at me about it.  But I've since found out that he's just as rabidly addicted to 24!  LOL

And yeah!  Why DIDN'T Bree call 911 from Alma's?  That was weird.

I dont think thats the point. I mean does it matter what you're doing that you dont want to be disturbed? Personally I dont care if CC is interrupting TV viewing, obo playing, or a rousing game of darts, the fact of the matter is she put herself upon these people who were otherwise engaged and felt that they were wrong to not indulge her. IMO that screams of entitlement.

I dont think people are entitled to much in life but a few hours of peace to do what you do to relax isnt asking a lot.

You put that very well. I agree 100%.

Frankly, I find "group activities" really boring. People sitting around talking about nonsense, or at least stuff that I'm not interested in? I'd rather be home watching something I like in that case. And I don't care one bit if people think I'm sad or pathetic; fine, let me be sad and pathetic AT HOME WATCHING MY SHOW!!

I find family get-togethers especially tiresome. Racist rants by uncles, people talking about the crime rate or how the government is trying to ruin their lives, yadda yadda. And it's always the same. No thank you, I'll pass. I'd rather watch my heroes saving the galaxy from the Wraith, thanks very much.

And why can't people talk about other things? Yeah, I can see asking someone if they think the Shroud of Turin was done by camera obscura or if they think the expanding universe model is the best theory considering all the other things you have to postulate... blank stares from the lot of them! *Sigh* I'll just sit here and watch my show; it's better for everyone.  :P
