It's very warm in my neck of the woods too, but I had today off for the holiday. I shredded a year's worth of old paper, hand washed what can't go in the dishwasher, and made beef stew for dinner. That's about all the (productive) effort I'll be going to today.

kckgirl- oh my--I first read that as you had put the paper IN the dishwasher, like you were going to make homemade paper!  I had to read it again to realize that now you have no dirty dishes in your house.  Good job!

Hubby is taking the kids and the dog outside because they are all getting stir crazy.  Temp is low 30's, still no word if school tomorrow.

We emptied out the freezer and wiped it all down.  Re-discovered some lost foods!  Still have one closet to go.  Not too bad!

Fear is temporary...Regret is forever.

I always promise myself I'll get some extra cleaning and organizing done, but in reality, I tend to spend the whole day in my pj's watching PBS or playing with Thing 1 and Thing 2.  Good times!

Of course, here in PA it is unseasonably warm, and rainy instead of snowy, so here I am at work...

You must be close to where we are.  We have the windows open.  PA should not feel like GA in January!

Today is youngest DD's 19th birthday. I treated her and her 3 siblings to lunch at the local Chinese restaurant. <Yummy!>
After that, I went to a thrift store, looking for bargains. I found a casual black wool knee-length jacket, some curtains, and 3 framed reproduction watercolor prints. All for $24 and change.

This morning, I knitted on my 3rd scarf for the Red Scarf Project. Tonight, I'll either knit on the scarf and, maybe do 15 minutes of clutter removal from my future craft room/former son's room.

BTW, my DH is 80 miles from Dallas, where he has to deliver a tractor trailer load of I-don't-remember-what tomorrow. I hope the sun comes out and melts away all the ice.

Snow days? what are those?

We don't get days off for weather, the place is open regardless.

Power goes out - find a broom, sweep the floor.

Snow to your eyebrows - shovel your way in - we'll find something for you to do.

There used to be "levels" of road conditions in our county - not any more

(level 1 - getting bad, be careful
level 2 - think twice before going out - you really should stay home
level 3 - if we catch you out - we arrest your stupid butt )

Being the teenage male I am, I do the most stereotypical stuff.

Videogames, computer, homework, and ehell.

(Don'T ask what a 17 year old male is doing on an etiquette forum, I don't know either, but I love this place.)

Speaking as a fifteen year old girl, I can honestly say that I wish some the local teenage guys spent more time on etiquette forums. (Or just cared about etiquette, but...)

I always have good intentions for snow days, but always end up doing absolutely NOTHING.  I DID however, get all the laundry done today, and cleaned a little bit.  But mostly I watch day time television and nap.  But that is something I rarely get to do, so it's a major treat!

It was 70 and sunny here in NC today, so work for me!!!!!  (UGH)

If it was bad enough that I was home however, here's the list (done in this order):

cup of hot tea (preferably Earl Grey with sugar and lemon)
Buffy marathon playing on computer in background
catching up on the forum
on to either the DOOL forum at TWOP, or catching up on my fanfic if a story was updated
play Final Fantasy 12 for the rest of the day (cause once you start, you're in it for HOURS)

I want SNOW!!!!  ;D

We got snow!  But mostly slush and ice.
School is closed another day so we really are about to hit cabin fever!
Hubby and the kids are out looking for a hill to try out 2 donated sleds from a neighbor with grown kids.
Then yet another movie.
Only so much laundry you can do, and only so many closets you can sort!
We went out Sat., and had a quick run to church Sun., but that has been it.  What did people do in olden times?
Our pile of items for donation tells me that 2nd hand shoppong will be really good next week because most likely many others are also clearing out STUFF!!

Well, it's been so long since I had a day off due to weather, but I would probably play with my granddaughters all day.  They are so much fun to play with!  They are so cute!  But then I am Amma and of course I think they are perfect!  LOL

You took the words right out of my mouth, except for the teenaged boy part.

When we get the occasional snow day - every few years or so - i looove to lay around in my pj's & spend quality time with my Playstation & pets.

I used to like to make snow drinks, but someone told me that snow is nature's filter & even if you add vodka it doesn't kill the fact that all the gas fumes & what not in the air attach to snow & making snow drinks is really bad for you.

...and cool that you love this place :) Happy to have ya!

Well, we only had one official snow day...the day we had 14 inches of snow.  DH and I went outside, started to shovel the driveway, then noticed there was no way our street was passable.

We went back inside, made an ambitious to-do list and then tossed it.  Spent the rest of the day in our haven (basement) with the cats, laptops, various spiked-hot-chocolate drinks, and TV.
