SO of Recipe Disasters. Food you hate to eat, but cook great

I make Beef Stroganoff, and personally I think BS tastes like glue. I just don't like it. However, I make it for my Step Father because he loves the stuff, I'll make it for his birthday or when I was living with my mom and him I'd make it for dinner once in awhile.

Same with fish, I can't STAND fish! However, DH says I make the best baked salmon he's ever eaten.

So, I was wondering if anyone else has the knack for certain recipes that they hate but others love.

Leg of Lamb.

I do not like any type of gamey meats/poultry.  I have tried all the soaking in milk etc tricks and they all tastes too gamy for me.

So I made this leg of lamb once for my family who requested it and now everyone loves it.  They ask me to bring it to gatherings.

I simply cover the leg of lamb with a paste made from coffee grounds, mint, rosemary, garlic and salt.  Marinate overnight and roast it in a slow oven till medium rare.  Serve it with mint jelly on the side.

They insist it is "da bomb"

Apple pie.  My crust is to die for and I load it up with apples and everyone else seems to really enjoy it.  I absolutely HATE the taste of baked apples though.

I don't eat meat, aside from fish.  But I rock at making beef and chicken stocks, soups, and steaks. I think it's because I can't taste them, and therefore can't overthink them.

Nestle Tollhouse Cookies.  Everybody always scarfs them down, but they're just too sweet for me.

Pan fried oysters.  I wouldn't eat them if I was starving to death.  But I know how to cook 'em just the way my dad likes.

I made stir-fry once for my Bro and SIL. She kept telling me to stir it, and cook it longer. It ended up cooked to MUSH. Seriously, you could hardly tell what veggies were in it. ::shudder::

But for some reason, they loooove overcooked stuff. And they burn quite a few things because of that. But I didn't burn it, so they thought that was great, and they scarfed it all down!
You are only young once. After that you have to think up some other excuse.

Not me, but my Aunt.  She makes the best eggplant parmesan in the WORLD (no joke it's that good) and I found out just last month that she hates it :o :o :o

I am a vegetarian.   :P

My grandma almosts died from choking on an apple, so she refuses to eat them in any form.  She still makes the best apple pie around, other than yours, of course.   ;)
