A store peeve of mine: being pushed/rushed out of line by the person behind me before I've had a chance to put my card back in my wallet, my wallet in my purse, and take my purchases.

But it's not always the person behind you......sometimes it's the clerk.  They'll often start scanning the next person's items.  That's when I really feel rushed.

But I was specifically referring to the occurrence of people behind me pushing through to the front before I'm finished up.

My biggest pet peeve is being talked down to.  If I even suspect that someone is doing this, I will immediately develop a very low opinion of the person.

And like so many of you, I can't stand when parents let their kids run wild, bring them places where they shouldn't be because they can't behave properly -- or imply that every woman should have children.

I also can't stand religious hypocrisy and absolutism; antisemitism is particuarly abhorrent to me.

I hate that too, especially the cashier not speaking to me. Excuse me, I'm about to drop over a hundred bucks and you can't say "hi"??

My pet peeve is when the customers do that at work. I make it a point to say hello and my customers won't even look at me. They go through their purse, talk on their phone or worse. I even have several ladies put their sunglasses on and glare at me through those. I am not expecting a big long conversation but a response to my questions ( like paper or plastic or how would you be paying) is nice.

This is my pet peeve too.  Either way, I do my best to not let them rush me, whether it is by not moving out of the way or by giving an icy glare.  OTOH, I dont take an inordinate amount of time to put my cc/receipt away (no filing it in the 'right' spot, I'll do that later) or gather my purchases (usually less than 15 seconds...)

people who ask you questions of a personal nature that you do not want to answer in public.

customer service that tells you what they *cannot* do for you, rather than what they *can* do for you.

people who are rude on the phone (csr or otherwise).

1-A huge peeve-marital status and sex life-being asked about by family. Totally a no-no! Family should know better.

2-Personal space-as mentioned in other threads-I don't like people rightthisclose to me either in front or back and being touched without permission or invitation.

3-People who have to broadcast their personal affairs on a cellphone for all to hear and enjoy.

4-Kids running around and misbehaving in restaurants.

5-People who say they are going to do something and forget or deny they ever said/promised such action.

6-Nosy people.
