I'm really getting frustrated by two people in my team at work. They're very close and for some reason have decided that a number of us aren't 'fit' to be included in their circle. Essentilly all these people that aren't good enough are ones that get on with the boss and want to succeed in the company.
Slight background, my old boss (who was fantastic) played favourites something shocking. These two were the two biggest favourites in the team. Did a lot of things for my boss, to the exclusion of others. (when one of the girls left she was going to give all that girls responsibilites until I spoke up and said I'd like to help out, to start learning stuff. I ended up becoming team secutary, which I was happy with as I still was making little errors and she didn't want to put me on pays with that in mind. PERFECTLY understandable) My boss leaves and the duties of her job are split up among five people. The female of the two runs team meetings and in the process tells one of the guys if he dosen't like it he can f#*k off and leave. She's immeaditly taken off all duties.
This is what my current boss enters into. Most of the team takes an immeadite dislike to him. One of the other girls ends up getting fired for her unprofessional beahviour because of her pesronal dislike of the boss.
The other two just completly take to themselves and barely communicate with the rest of the team. As an example of their co-dependance he takes up SMOKING at age 29 to spend more time with her. Very, very stupid.
All comes to a head on Sunday at a team lunch. She was joking around with our boss (who has just been promoted) and they were calling each other names. She takes offence and goes right over the top. I apparently roll my eyes at her (because she was really making an bottom of herself) I get an email asking me about it and wanting to know why "as I felt its really unfair that you don't see the side of my story." After consulting with another team member I delete the email and ignore it. It was really childish and unprofessional (spoiling for a fight basiclly) and I felt like leaving well enough alone. This girl can get really nasty when she wants and I'd rather keep my head down till I go on my holiday. Find out today she's given her notice and has been getting in people's ears about how under appreciated they are. The sad thing is, some (who I thought knew better) are believing her. Its just posionous and is really making the work enviroment toxic.
Thankfully, she'll only be here for another three weeks and hopefully things will go back to normal (though I can see co-dependance boy leaving soon after) I'm just SICK of people reverting back to high school, ESPECILLY when they're all older than me! (I'm 23 and they're both late 20s)
