I'm posting my farewell to the real Midnight with a picture taken with DH just hours before she passed on December 2, 2011. She would have been 18 in January 2012, so she had a good run as the boss of our home. I started my new job on 12/1. I came home excited to find a dying cat. I thought she would not make it through the night. She slept on my pillow, as she has for over 17 years. At 5-1/2 pounds, there wasn't much left but love and a purr. She wasn't in pain, but she was ready.

For pictures of her in happier days, see this post:
http://www.etiquettehell.com/smf/index.php?topic=67564.msg2600472#msg2600472It has been 3 weeks and we still miss her every day. Her sister, Bootsie, is not eating much, not enough. We think she is grieving for her sister. At least she's starting out at a hefty 13-1/2 pounds, so she won't starve soon. Still, she needs to lose weight slowly, not crash, or we might lose her, too.
