Used the line for a unusal request

My aunt is visiting from a tropical climate and did not come prepared with a jacket or coat.  I offered one of mine to her to use while she was visting.  She thanked me and then asked, "If she could borrow DF to snuggle with too."  I guess I looked at her with such disbelief that she wanted to qualify her answer.  She said that it never hurts to ask.  I so hope it was joke but in the moment it sure didn't seem like it.

So I calmly looked at her and replied, "No, I'm afraid that won't be possible."

I laugh now but in the moment I was a little creeped out.  DF is still a lot creeped out.

I really do hope she was trying to make a joke that didn't come off well!
