I drive my family  nuts because I watch foregin films. The ones with subtitles. I wish Pan's Labermyth was playing near me it looks so good. But my family sees subtitles and flips out. Expect my sister. We can watch stuff like All About my Mother that the rest of my family runs away from.

I love Fight Club. No wait, let me say that better, I LOVE FIGHT CLUB. If you watch it with me, I will quote along, I will offer tivia, I will inform you of the book/movie discrepencies and of why I adore both in their own ways.
Next to that, I adore very strange movies. Tank Girl, A Clockwork Orange, Donnie Darko, you know, very strange movies. I adore strange movies because I can pick them apart philisophically while watching them. My best friend and I will watch and philosophize to the extreme annoyance of others. Of course, we can shut it up if there's a newbie in the room or if it's a movie no one has seen.
Oh, and I have to dance and sing along with both The Producers and Chicago. Come on! Who doesn't want to be Roxie or Ulla?

I LOVE Tank Girl! LOVE LOVE Donnie Darko!! DH and I enjoy strange movies, kids often think our taste is quite strange. and I enjoy listening to CDs of Broadway shows! DH doesn't care for them. Oldest DD loves the Rent soundtrack and now understands my love of musicals! Wicked soundtrack has great stuff on it!

I love not only American Idol, but most (all?) of the Fox reality shows!  The girls in our chatroom squeal over AI, and the guys (who greatly outnumber us) cringe and groan.  I watch Nanny 911, Trading Spouses, The Simple Life, and that one about renovating your home.

I also love...  Milli Vanilli!  Yes, I know they're fake, but...  I love the songs, darn it!

I was a "Broadway Baby" by proxy - my aunt, who is a professional dancer and has always wanted to work on Broadway. Now that she's older and has 2 kids and is going to give up dancing to teach, starting next year, it never happened, but I grew up on every musical that came down the pike and that my aunt LOVED - Cats, A Chorus Line, Fame, Grease, The Sound of Music, Cabaret, West Side Story, Annie - if my aunt liked it, so did I (she was like an older sister to me, so anything and everything she did was the ultimate in cool).

Now I'm on to more "modern" fare - Wicked, RENT, Jersey Boys, Phantom, Les Mis, The Producers, Avenue Q and so on. But I still love theater. I want to be able to go see "Jersey Boys" and "Wicked" when they tour L.A., since I didn't get a chance to catch them here.

I can't resist antique shops and flea markets and I love to buy pretty second-hand jewelry to wear and vintage things for my home.  My husband and friends think I'm a wee bit daft for these immensely enjoyable activities.

Richard Cheese does a Vegas style lounge singer act in which he takes already hit popular songs ("Material Girl", "Baby Got Back", etc) does nothing to change the lyrics or tune, and just covers them in the appropriate lounge style.

Either you'll love it or you're going to think I'm insane for finding this so hilarious.

I LOOOOOOOOVE Richard Cheese!  Have you ever seen him live?  If not, you really have to try to catch one of his shows.  His website has them listed.  I think they're usually at smaller nightclubs for that extra "loungy" feel.  I also really like the use of his cover of "Down with the Sickness" in the remake of Dawn of the Dead.  Classic.  My favorite Richard Cheese song will always be Hot for Teacher. 

I have a soft spot for his recording of "Beat It", using the children's chorus.  For some reason, that just strikes me as especially over the top.  I also really dug the "Down with the Sickness" cover.  My husband prefers "Baby Got Back" as his favorite, and has been known to sing it in that style while in the car, shower, etc. 

I've yet to see Lounge Against the Machine in person, but would love to.  I need to live closer to Vegas.  It's a pity we didn't have a big wedding, because seeing that they can be hired as your reception entertainment just makes me wish I'd done that.     I don't think a lot of the relatives would know quite what hit them.

I love Cowboy Junkies. And if you lived in Toronto in the 'golden days of music' (ie late 80s/early 90s) they used to play in all the clubs. Ah those were the days. Specifically, those were the days when I occasionally stayed out past 10.

I will confess. I love those medical shows. All of them. Drives DH nuts, he hates the sight of blood.

DH, on the other hand, likes the occasional gory movie. I hate gore-fests, they make me ill.

Now, this may not seem like something that would drive people nuts, but most South Africans, regardless of ethnicity, LOVE sports and hate science fiction. Therefore, anybody who likes SF is automatically a nutcase and a weirdo and nothing they like must be worth watching. And what's worse is they continually call my Trek-love DOCTOR instead of MISTER Spock! I mean, that's just blasphemy!

I love true crime shows, drives my DH nuts!  He always says I watch them so I'll know how to cover the crime when I kill him.  He likes popular music, I'm into 60's, 70's and 80's rock.  I probably have the only children on this board that could sing "Godzilla" by BOC, "Cat Scratch Fever" by Ted Nuget and "Evil Woman" by ELO by the time they were 5!  LOL

I love stinky cheese! Aspic. Pickled eggs. Liverwurst and onion on Rye, which drives my DH and neighbours nuts. I love to find those really terrible recipes from the 50-60-70's and try them out! Tomato jello, Yum!

Delta Goodrem! I don't know how likely it is that anyone will know who the heck I'm talking about (except for any Australian Ehellions) but I love her! My housemates are all into rock or punk type music and they mock me mercilessly. I don't care!
