Okay, you asked for it!

Here it is: The DOOL Dish Thread!

What I LOVE about DOOL:

1) Patch and Kayla are back!

2) JER is NOT the head writer!

3) Love is BACK on Days!

4) The Demira's are back (well...never left if you count Lexie)


What I HATE about DOOL:

1) Kate. Can't stand that character. She is PURE EVIL! they could also loose Chelsea, Billie, Patrick, Roman.

2) The Claire storyline. Just so not believable.

3) NuShawn. yuck.

4) Hope was preggers for a year.

5) they wrote off Jack and Jennifer. Yeah it was back in Sept. but I still wish they were back.

6) Super Aging of children. you know how it is. the baby is born, shown on screen for a couple of months and then shipped off to a Swiss boarding school when they are 10. The child returns at voting age with in a year.


I also love that they are really maturing Sami. She is one of my favorite characters on the show right now.

I've been saying this for awhile now, but if soaps want to attract more viewers, they need to make their storys more realistic. do away with "mysterious illnesses" or people coming back from the dead. Esp.the Super Kid Aging. hate that. at this rate, Claire and the new Brady baby will be old enough to vote in 2 years!

The "legal system" on Days esp. needs to be overhauled. They need to make the "cops" do their jobs. There needs to be more than one lawyer and doctor on the show. And they should NOT be Dimera plants. Or paid by Victor.

Too many "evil" characters also harms the soap. For a while, I could not even watch because of Kate. She was just getting away with too much and no punishment.

I second the YAY! on Reilly being gone!

And the YAY! on Steve and Kayla's return!

I have been complaining for some time about their need for qualified legal and medical consultants. The story of Claire being taken from Belle is ludicrous. In the real world, Victor's "case" would have had to be a lot more convincing and with some kind of proof of unfitness before a child would be taken from her mother. And where was the demand for a paternity test to be entered into evidence? Why was the judge referring to Shawn, Belle, and Phillip by their first names? What did Willow's testimony have to do with anything? Shawn has not legally been established as Claire's father, so the legal action would have been against Belle only, rendering Willow's testimony pretty much irrelevant.

I'm getting used to nuShawn. I don't know if I will ever get used to old-Phillip-is-new-Phillip. I always preferred Kyle Brandt in the role. As an actor, I think he was more likeable.

I was sick and tired of Mimi, couldn't wait for her to leave, and now I'm liking her again. She's good with Max. There isn't a whole lot of chemistry at this point, but I see some good potential. Let's have Abby stop mooning over Max. It's ridiculous.

Either give Billie a storyline or let her leave. Send her and Chelsea to start a new life somewhere else. The canvas is pretty full, so a decent, juicy storyline for Billie probably isn't in the cards.

Why why why bring back Connor Lockhart and have him involved with this Bonnie/skeleton story? I'd rather have let Connor stay at the Juvenile Detention Center for Aging and have Bonnie leave town. Keep Judi Evans Luciano around and have her play Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis again.

I love that Bo and Hope are back together.

I may have to start getting into Days, since Reilly has run my one true soap love, Passions, into the ground
I'll be finishing grad school in a couple of months, and I told my parents it's just as well I have to get a 9-5 job since Passions has been cancelled, and I won't have anything to watch during the day.

NuShawn is straaaaaaange looking, isn't he?  I like old Shawn much better.  I also liked the old Belle much better too.  Not-so-NuBelle is far too matronly looking for the role of Belle.  She must be at least 30.  She dresses like she's 50, and if she doesn't stop gaining weight, she's not going to be able to pull off the "sweet petite baby Belle" character for much longer.

Hi!  Long time DOOL fan here, as in watching since Bo and Hope first got married......here's my 2 cents:

As to the Kate hate, right here with ya!!  I can't believe she would condone Philip leaving the country with Claire after what Curtis did to her re: Billie and Austin.

About the kid aging thing, they actually have a name for that:  SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome).  I always thought it was pretty funny that Phillip and Will were born around the same time, yet Phillip is grown and Will is still a teen.

I want Vivian back!!  She was too funny, especially when she buried Carly alive (ahh the good old Days!)

I am LOVING the fact the JER(k) is gone from the show.  I hate hate hate that guy!

NuShawn:  way too simian for my tastes.  He's doing better though on the acting, and he seems to work well with Martha Madison (Belle).  I miss the original Belle though, she would look strange as a mom considering how young she looks.  At least they got rid of the interim Belle as she was AWFUL.

I have always loved evil Victor.....

Also, I am soooo glad Steve and Kayla are back!  I have been waiting for 16 years for this, ever since Steve's funeral where they switched the coffins after everyone left, and never brought it up again.  None of my friends believed he would be back, and it was great to call and gloat when he finally did.

I knew about Patrick, Lexie, and Tek. If Bonnie's gone too, I guess they just brought Connor back for a couple of episodes. I also heard that Farah Fath's contract was up in February, but that she may wind up staying. I like Mimi with Max, so it wouldn't bother me.

Truth be told, my oldest daughter is named Kayla. I loved Kayla Brady so much, and I was pregnant in 1986/1987.  I liked the name, and when I looked it up in the baby name book, I discovered it was a derivative of my name (Catherine). For that reason, I chose to use it. Too bad I didn't know I was on the beginning end of a huge trend! I might have chosen something else.

I still love Kayla Brady, though, and my own Kayla, who is almost 20.

I have always wanted them to bring back Vivian and Ivan, Susan and Kristan (so she can do the mean, mean, mean line!) and Old Roman. I still can't believe that they have Chis and Roman. That was so lame.

The whole Kate thing is just so wrong. I have hated that character ever since they brought her back from the dead. She just grates on my every nerve. I totally loved when Lucas was in the hospital and Sami was talking to Billie about moving into Lucas' old apartment. She was just LIVID that Billie would even want to THINK for herself! I will applaud and cheer if they ever get rid of Kate. I hope Sami brings her down.

I am still hoping beyond hope that Stephano comes back! I hated the whole island thing where Tony had Stephano's blood. That was weird and gross!

I would love to see Sami take Kate down. I'm worried about the fact that Sami is, once again, keeping a secret from Lucas. Her motives this time are pure - she's afraid if she tells the truth about EJ helping her and what he made her do, that he will harm Lucas and Will. Unfortunately, with her track record, who is going to believe her when the truth comes out?

She's going to turn up pregnant and there will be another "who is the father" storyline.

It would just be great if, when the truth comes out, Sami is vindicated, Kate gets taken down, and Sami and Lucas finally tie the knot.

Eileen Davidson was let go from The Young and the Restless, so maybe a return of Susan/Kristen isn't so far-fetched! After all, EJ is Susan's son.

About Roman - when JER did his stupid Alex North story with Wayne Northrop, I hated that they rewrote Marlena's entire history (and every time they talked about her list of husbands, somehow Don Craig got left off the roster), claiming that Alex North was her real first husband. And I really, really hated that they used old clips and footage of Marlena and Roman as the "Alex" flashbacks. I thought that was a cheap gimmick. Yuck.

I like Josh Taylor, but he's never been Roman to me. I was really hoping that Wayne Northrop's return was going to be as Roman, not that lame Alex North thing. (I never liked Faux Bo either, the one played by Robert Kelker-Kelly.)
