I was taking a shower and looking at the shower radio and thinking nobody's used it since Cop left.

All of a sudden I swear I could smell his Colgate toothpaste..

Not really.  Smell and memory are very closely linked.  Whenever I see a pipe, even if I can't actually smell it, I get a whiff of cherry tobacco and it reminds me of my GF who died in 1977. But still, that must hurt just a little.

It's not strange. The sense of smell is a powerful and evocative thing.

Last night, when Paul and I hung out (we just ended up wandering aimlessly and watching TV at his friend's house because we missed our movie showtime in favor of eating), the first thing he noticed (which was admittedly deliberate on my part) was my that I smelled like jasmine. I didn't volunteer what it was, and when he asked if it was a new lotion, I said, "Yeah, it's my new lotion." (it was actually a combination of lotion, shower gel and body spray, but was I going to tell HIM that? ;) )

At the end of the night he said he couldn't get that scent out of his head, because I "smelled so good." That was part of the intent. ;D Of course I didn't let on that that was the idea.
