How do you like your Hot Chocolate?

Since it has gotten unusually cold where I am (Texas), I have taken to drinking a cup of hot chocolate every night to relax at the end of the day.  (Instead of drinking cocacola  )Lately I've been boring about it, but I love putting marshmallows in there.  I also used to put a small bit of peppermint schnapps in or when I really feel fancy, I will put whipped cream on top with chocolate sprinkles.  How do you dress up your hot chocolate?

I usually just have Swiss Miss with mini marshmallows, but when we have whipped cream on hand I use that, too.  And sometimes my dad will use his espresso maker to mix some up with whole milk for me.

I drink hot chocolate all the time, though, so I don't dress it up often.  People like to tease me by saying, "You can't drink a hot drink when it's hot out!  That's just silly/stupid/wrong," and proceed to take a sip of coffee

I love marshmellows...but also like to splash a little Chambord into it with them, too!

Well im offically spoiled, last year hubby bought us a hot chocolate machine of ebay with part of our tax refund. So I know have whipped hot chocolate all year round

That and add some mini marshmallows and sometimes a pepermint candy cane during xmas time.

When I dress it up it's with some instant coffee or with cherry tea.

I used to go to this hot chocolate cafe in Bratislava, Slovakia (it is a tiny little shop and all they serve is hot chocolate) and they had the most amazing hot chocolate I've ever had. They had a million varieties with all sorts of things in them, liquors of all types, cinnamon, chili (it's actually really good), and I don't remember what. Also it was quite literally hot chocolate with very little milk, very rich and very, very good. Darn now I want some but I can't go there right now. Will have to find a substitute at home.

Working at Starbucks, I'm spoiled and have to have espresso in my "hot chocolate" thereby making it a mocha.

Ahh. I just discovered Tim Horton's Cafe Mocha while on a long road trip.

Has a sweetness coffee lacks (plus whipped cream topping). On the other hand, the coffee in it gives the chocolate a slight bitter taste, more like dark chocolate than milk chocolate. All in all, sort of like Irish coffee without the alcohol content.

I like it just plain but like to add a little half and half and some coffeemate to make it richer.

We somehow ended up with a slab of pure Guittard milk chocolate, so I break off a piece, shave it, heat up some water, and mix up my chocolate shavings with 1/3 water, 1/3 evaporated skim milk, and 1/3 sweetened condensed milk, topped with a dollop of whipped cream. Mmmmmm, this is making me want some, but I'm fresh out of whipped cream.

I like my hot chocolate made from chocolate syrup and steamed milk with about an inch of foam on top!  mmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I like to throw some dried raspberries in the bottom of the cup.  Then when all of the liquid is gone the berries have plumped up and become infused with chocolate.  Mmmmmmmm.

All sorts of ways!

I've used candy canes as stirrers, added chambord, butter shots, or the caramel flavored baileys to it (that is my favorite).

And I really prefer it to have whipped cream on top!!
