how did you come up with your nickname?
Sandi Papaya:
I was posting something else when I thought of this thread (why does this always happen to me?).
Sooo...how did you come up with your nickname? I've heard a few explanations of a few nicknames here and there, but I'm sure more than a few of you have wondered why I call myself "moonbunny" and what the heck it means.
MoonBunny actually comes from a few things...it comes from the fact that I was born in the Chinese year of the Rabbit, and even before I knew that, I've always loved and collected stuffed bunnies. :) Plus, I was an Easter-week baby (born on a Maundy Thursday) , so many of the stuffed animals I was given as a baby (though none have, sadly, survived) were bunnies.
The Moon part comes from the old fairy tale about the Rabbit in the Moon, which I've heard different origins for. I've heard it's either Japanese or Maya in origin, but either way I like the idea of a rabbit in the moon better than a man in the moon. :) Also, when I was in college, I was a big Sailor Moon fan, and Sailor Moon's Japanese name, Tsukino Usagi, means "rabbit of the moon."
My ex-BF made me a wonderful drawing based on an idea I gave him of a rabbit in the moon, the scan of which I used as a logo for my LiveJournal. He later sent me the sketches and the actual drawing he made for me via snail-mail, which was why I fell for him. Although sadly, we're not together anymore, the MoonBunny picture (which is what he and I called it) still remains on my wall, a reminder of the good times we had.
And now I'm getting all teary, so here ends my explanation of my nickname. What's yours?
Moogle:
I got mine from the videogame franchise, Final Fantasy. Almost of the Final Fantasy games have moogles, except for I, II and I think V. VI has the only playable moogle.
LuckyDucky:
Mine is a reminder that I don't have it as bad as I think.
I continually get told that I am so lucky to have what I have. I am 22, married to my soulmate, a homeowner, and working in an awesome job. My single cousins who still live at home, tell me every Christmas that I am such a lucky duck (a phrase our Grandma used). So every time I start to spiral down (works to hard, bills are eating my money, RedNut is being horrible) I tell myself that I am a Lucky Ducky.
savve:
My name is borrowed from the main female character in one of the best Sami movies ever made. It really was my favourite movie for quite a while, and I still think it's great. I don't know if it has got an English name, but the original name is Ofelas, wich roughly translates into the Guide.
Anybody know how to insert special letters? That last s is meant to wear a tiny v...
Alida:
Mine is actually the name of a character I play in a long running Star Wars roleplay. I'm really not using my real name :)
