I'm afraid I was guilty of overstaying a visit with a new friend a few weeks ago :-| DH and I have lived in this city for about 2 years but never really made any friends, so I was definitely feeling starved for female company. I met "Annette" through work (she's at the main library and I'm at one of the branches), and we found out we had a lot in common and she invited me to join a group of her friends who meet once a week to watch cheesy movies and play board games.
So here I am, excited to have a social group again, and she sends out an email to everyone saying she and her husband got new couches and her husband was out of town that weekend, and would anyone be willing to help her move them in that evening. I called her and volunteered, and asked if she'd like to do dinner or something. So we were all set to order in Chinese after moving couches, and I told DH he was on his own for dinner :-)
I got there around 6:45, we moved the couches fine and got Chinese delivered and watched TV and chatted for a while. The conversation occasionally drifted toward finishing up, but we just never seemed to get up off the couch . . . and all of a sudden it was 10:00

It was her cats that finally kicked me out - they wanted food at 10:00 sharp, and no mere guest was going to keep their Annette from feeding them!
I later found out that Annette is on some medications that she has to take at 10 PM, no exceptions, and one of them knocks her out so she's asleep about 15 minutes later. So she was probably desperate to kick me out, and I just didn't notice because I was so excited to have someone to talk to :-|
