Etiquette School is in session! > "Have you tried the bean dip?"
Any variations?
goblue2539:
I'm getting ready to spend my first holiday with my SO. He is wonderful. His family.. not so much. So, I need to know of any variation on the "bean dip" that might help me NOT offer my opinion on his sisters. Any ideas?
Shortcake:
"I would really love another piece of that pie!"
"Can I have the recipe for that casserole?"
goblue2539:
Recipe requests! Why didn't I think of that? Thank you!
I think it's the brain freeze that happens. It should've been obvious, but I was freaking about what I'd think and afraid it would get past the brain-to-mouth filter. Recipes are perfect! I think I may bring my cross-stitch with me too. That'll give me another topic to change to.
Shortcake:
That brain freeze thing happens to me when I am in the middle of the situation. It is easier to think of things to say when you (general you) are not under stress.
I hope this works for you. If I think of more ideas, I will post again.
goblue2539:
I will definitely let you know, and thank you again for the help. Right now his parents like me, and I"m trying to keep it that way. ;)
