Loser's Club??
« on: December 07, 2006, 10:01:49 AM »
Well, it looks like Ehelldame has the ability to create "child folders" - so maybe we could get the Loser's Club started here instead of Yahoo! Groups. Unless you want to keep the Yahoo! Group up, just in case the server goes wonky again (knock on wood).

I haven't spent a whole lot of time on the Yahoo! group because I've been spending my nights awake, antsy, and my days sleeping, so my body clock is all turned around. :(

Well, since I haven't been posting to the yahoo one, but I come here all the time, I'm all for keeping the club here. Unless of course everyone else disagrees. What say you??

I need some support as I've been slipping with my diet lately. Apparantly with the cold weather finally here my body wants to consume everything I lay eyes on and hibernate for the winter like a bear. I can't stop eating!! And I haven't even starting my Christmas baking!!! HELP ME!

Ah, Taco Bell. I haven't had anything from there in forever! A chicken quesadilla sounds divine!

Deb, would the news reports about Taco Bell help solve your addiction?

Okay...now help me with McDonald's. I know it's hiddeous, and I should be ashamed, but I have this thing for the double cheeseburger....it haunts me...
I think if I could beat fast food and overcome my stress and emotional eating I'd have half the battle won. I'm trying to use this website as my no-eating crutch when I'm stressed and it helps...
Of course, getting off my fat duff and going to walk would help too.....ugh. Sometimes I worry about myself.....
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

Well, if you were in CA, I'd suggest switching to In-N-Out, as their double cheeseburgers are waaaaay better. But... that defeats the purpose of the diet part.

You know, I don't know if this advice helps, but I'm also a comfort-eater and I find that smaller portions of really flavorful things are just as satisfying for a craving. For instance, I'll have a square of Ghiradelli's Intense Dark when I have a chocolate craving. I can eat a bunch of Hershey's (kisses, mini-bars, etc.), but the richer, higher-quality chocolate seems to hit the craving faster in smaller quantities. I break off a square and put the bar back into the back of the cabinet where I can't see it. If there's fresh fruit, it usually hits a sugar craving just as well as candy. I also do ice cold water with lemon when I'm totally feeling like a soda (Diet Coke with Splenda... fabulous... but no-calories aside, my stomach and teeth will not last if I continue the bad soda habit). I'm not the best at doing these things, but I find that whenever I do it, it helps. Just don't go cold-turkey, because cold turkey + stress = bingeing.

My other stress-coping method was to clean obsessively. I graduated a little over a year ago, but when I was in school, my living space would be spotless during finals. I couldn't study unless it was spotless and I cleaned to take breaks/procrastinate.

Edited for grammar... I have no grasp of anything on Fridays.

Look under "Ehellions Meet and Greet" - Ms. Jeanne already put a child folder there for us!
