Holidays with my Grandpa.
« on: December 06, 2007, 05:54:26 PM »
It's sad when I'm surprised we made it through the holidays w/out my grandpa saying something jerky.

A few Thanksgivings ago this happened:

Grandpa walk up to S (my dad's girlfriends daughter) and says, "many I'm surprised we have any food left" (s is plus-sized as are my husband and I).  Later on we are all playing cards and my Grandpa walks up and says, "Does anyone have room for pie, hey P (my husband) I know YOU'VE gotta have room for pie".

Well evil-DH came out to play  >:D and said, "no, but how about a warm glass of shut the hll up?"

Now I know this was not very polite, but it was so funny I about spit pop out of my nose.

A bit of background: my grandpa is known for saying EXTREMELY rude things.

A few Christmases before, I had gotten someblood work done.  I have extremely hard to locate veins, so I had a big bruise.  My grandma and I were discussing it as she has the same issue.

g: you know why they couldn't find a vein?
me (not really wanting to ask): no, why grandpa?
g: it's because of all that blubber

At my grandma's funeral (his wife), he told my other grandpa that he sure had gotten fat. :o

A classic case of you gotta love him, because otherwise you'd kill him.
I have enough lithium in my medicine cabinet to power three cars across a sizeable desert.  Which makes me officially...Three Cars Crazy

My bro isn't mean about it, but your grandpa reminds me of how obsessed he is with people's weight.  And I mean obsessed.

You could turn it around on him and begin an academic discussion of how people who are obsessed with others' weight are compensating for the lack of success in their lives.
