If the company is reshipping the item, what about asking them to ship it second day, and pay the difference in the shipping fees? I'd also have it shipped to you or your husband at work, rather than at home. Or ask the local depot to hold the item, and you'll pick it up there.

I just can't help thinking that if somebody like DQ accidentally broke something, she would just blame the delivery company. How hard would it be to say, "BigDeliveryCompany left this with me. It sounds broken."

The fact that she admitted to dropping it -- more than once, no less -- suggests that she wanted to make it plain that this was no accident. And while I really don't like to go looking for malicious intent, that the box had the name of a religious company on it makes it even more troubling.

Nothing to add to the previous posts, but that menorah is a work of art that I would be tempted to display year 'round.  You have lovely taste. 

I opened it to see if it was OK...and it mostly is  Was she high?

If you need one right away, I've seen Menorahs at Target. They're probably not as nice as the one you ordered, but it would work... unless you need it to be made a certain way.. I'm not sure about that. I think they were around 15 or 20 bucks?

From looking at it, you could think it was some sort of "artsy" vase (I mean that in a good way) and I honestly don't think she realized what it really was, especially after the Christmas Tree incident.

I really don't get how it could be too heavy for her and she dropped it multiple times.  After the first drop, why not scoot it?  It's a menorah - it can't weigh that much...

I'd like to add that, if any legal action is ever taken against this woman... Your posts here can be submitted to the court as evidence against her. Post when she pulls something crazy, and print out the original posts.

Marina, I have to say I'm with DresserQueen here.  What kind of awful Christian are you?  First you leave your Christmas tree on the front step, then you order that horribly unChristian THING and people will probably get confused and think you're Jewish or something!  She broke it for your own good, really, I'm sure!

I'm remembering my glory days working in shipping.  I worked actually in the UPS store processing packages, but I did learn quite a bit about the shipping hubs.  Workers are literally throwing packages to move them from one place to another- no time to daintily pick them up and gently set them down.  No, they have to throw them.  And packages need to be packed to withstand that kind of punishment.  Not to mention the hell they go through in transport.

If your menorah could survive that, then unless Dresser Queen stood on the roof of her house and dropped it, I can't see her damaging it even by dropping it a few times in the garage.

And, honestly, I think she may be that crazy.

I'd check the box for external damage. If there's none, then she opened the box and broke it.

If there's external damage, my money is on her running it over with her car.
